Jessica Ruano is proud to work with MASC as Communications Director and Community Program Coordinator, bringing arts programming to un- derserved communities and providing meaningful work to professional artists. A graduate of Canterbury High School and the University of Ottawa (M.A., Theatre Theory and Dramaturgy), she has fifteen years’ experience working in marketing and communications for a variety of arts organizations and artists in Ottawa-Gatineau and beyond. She has also worked as an arts journalist and reviewer for multiple publications. As a theatre director, producer, and writer, she is perhaps best known for her doc- umentary dance theatre production of The Ghomeshi Effect that toured across Canada and for which she received the 2017 Ottawa International Women’s Day Award for Media. She is grateful to be living on the traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishnaabeg people with her daughter Joy Apitak.
